Aboyne Mill was built in the 1880s, an integral part of European settlements that brought trauma and transformation to these lands This land is the traditional unceded territory of the Attawandaron (also known as the Neutral), Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples. It is situated on the lands of the Haldimand Treaty of 1784, land promised (but never honoured) to the Six Nations which includes six miles on each side of the Grand River from Lake Erie to the head of the river.
The transformation we hold here in these times, is to recognize, reconcile, repair and release the suffering and violence of the past that we and the Earth hold in our bodies and to see through the illusion and delusions of separation that continues to shape how we listen and live with each other. We remember how to humble our mind, open our grateful hearts, listen to our wise bodies, reconnect with our inner compass and graceful guidance, honour the Spirits of the land and waters and let the River move us. Here now, in these wild times, we laugh and cry, dance and sing, grow roots and wings.

The Great Room on the 'ground' level can hold larger gatherings, with a great fireplace, large windows right on the river and a magnificent deck that overlooks the water and ruins. This space can gently hold gatherings of 6-12 people in movement or circle and more at closer quarters.

On the lower level of the mill ruins is a practice space, for private sessions and smaller groups.

The Inner Sanctuary, within the walls of the mill ruin. is for sacred ceremony, song and fire circles as well as other special gatherings.
